Bamboo Floor
Not every bamboo floor is created equal. Good quality bamboo flooring has moisture resistant properties. The ones with better quality do not easily warp, crack, nor delaminate under normal conditions. Since it has become all the rage in floor construction, poor quality bamboos are now all over the market. They may be cheaper but over time quickly fade and split which would often require the homeowner to shell out more money to fix the problem. They are made with cheap toxic glue and formaldehyde. The poor quality ones are less compressed and produce a less dense product with questionable durability.
It is no secret that bamboo is a resilient and is a tough material that is comparable to oak, maple, and other traditional hardwood floors. It has been used by people for decades when making anything from craft items to furniture to building a house. What complements the bamboo’s quality is that it is priced lower than the regular wood flooring materials. Each and every bamboo flooring piece is a thin strip of bamboo glued together with the others with an adhesive and is mechanically pressed. Floorings with vertical grains are laminated on their edges to display the grains. Horizontal grain flooring on the other hand are piled on top of each other showing the growth rings. Strand woven bamboo flooring uses bamboo strips that are woven, glued, pressed, and cut into boards.
