If your garden lacks a focal point, it makes sense to choose a patio set to take on that role.
You can buy patio sets in bright colors but most tend to be neutral and blend in with your garden rather than making an impact and standing out. You could however
- buy outdoor cushions for your patio furniture. If you choose bright colors or patterns it will lift your patio and make your furniture look good as well as providing that all important focal point
- paint your furniture in bright colors. It’s probably not worth trying this with plastic furniture but it works well with both metal and wooden furniture provided you use appropriate paint for the job
- do both – paint your outdoor furniture and buy some new cushions to match!
I have seen some beautiful patio sets painted in all kinds of colors for example, one lavender blue Adirondack chair particularly caught me eye in its setting against dark green evergreen foliage.
If you have some old patio furniture it’s a great way to give it a face lift too.
