Searching For A Glass Table Today

As Flora entered The Old Antiques she felt ill at ease. A tiny bell tinkled somewhere in the back of the shop. The place was dark and she couldn’t see anyone. Then someone came out from behind a curtained area.

“You want something, lady? I’m in the middle of my lunch. Look around. Yell if you need help. You don’t need to worry, the door’s locked.”

What did that mean?

Flora wished she had told Morgan, or her good friend George who was definitely more reliable, where she was going this afternoon but she hadn’t told a soul.  This search for a glass table for her stylish red living room might end up leading to her death.

She had visions of herself ending up all dusty and covered with dirty sheets and discovered years later when someone came in and investigated this place.  Probably all sorts of terrible crimes were committed in this creepy place. She wished she had asked Gladys to come with her. After all Gladys had taste. She had lived in the luxury of Paris for several years.
