Silktime

Silk music group was a popular R&B band from Georgia. They were best known for the song “Freak Me” which they came out with when they were a quintet.  After they lost Jenkins and were no longer associated with Elektra, they lost some of their momentum. In 2003, they were down to a quartet, and released their fifth album which was entitled Silktime, out of their own label, known as Silk Music Group. This album featured songs such as  “Silktime”, and “My Girl”, “Alibi” and “More”, “You (The Baby Song)” and  “Check My Story” and even a cover song version of Blue Magic’s hit  “Sideshow”. That song served to bring them back together with their mentor from the early times, Keith Sweat. However, with the loss of Jenkins as their lead vocalist, the album had a poor sales performance.
