If you are a kid right now you never had it so good. I cannot believe the choice out there, if I child wants it, or even if he doesn’t want it, it seems to already exist. The focus seems to have moved slightly away from marketing things to adults and refocused squarely on our children. and boy are they loving it.
Just take the bedroom, when I was a kid there was action man or Snoopy for your duvet cover. Today why stop at the duvet cover? Your whole bedroom can be themed. If you want to have a camouflage army theme throughout then get that canopy bed camouflage kit and turn your bedroom into desert storm. Or get a complete Dora the Explorer canopy bed and covers if you’re into pink.

Here’s a heart warming story for any parent who’s on a tight budget right now but doesn’t want to deprive her child of anything. My youngest wanted to turn her bedroom into chamber fit for a princess and was, of course, searching the web for the most expensive bed canopies to adorn her small bed. Not only were some of her choices pricey but they were also, in my opinion, pretty tacky. Nevertheless I wanted the best for her and off we went to our local market. There’s a pretty little fabric shop down there and we spent a good couple of hours rummaging through all sorts of great fabrics. My daughter was in heaven. Finally we found something suitable and very tasteful. Back home we trotted and with the help of my wife and her trusty sewing machine we knocked together her own unique bed canopy within half an hour. The result was cheap, more creative and individual. A lesson for us all.
