Cheap car insurance quotes are relatively easy to come by, but it is essential that you check out the provider before you sign on the dotted line.  There are a range of factors that need to be considered as you do your due diligence in checking out the claims made by offerers of cheap car insurance.

Firstly you need to be sure that the company is reputable, and likely to be still in business if you have an accident. Are they a publicly listed company, have they been around for some time? Are they registered with the relevant authorities to offer you insurance in your state?

Secondly you need to be sure that the advertised price includes all of the basic or extra cover you require. Does it cover rental car if you are without wheels for a few weeks? Does it cover break and enter? Fire damage? Water damage?

Thirdly, does the reported price include any hidden extras, which are not made clear to the purchaser up front? What does the fine print say?

These are all important factors that should be explored as potential purchaser of car insurance weigh up their options and makes a purchase.
