Mother’s Day is one of the most special days of the year.  More telephone calls are placed on Mother’s Day than any other day of the year, including Christmas.  The waiting lines outside restaurants are longer than any other occasion during the year.  And, many of us spend more time stressing over what to give our moms on her special day than we do for her birthday or for Christmas.

If there is one thing to remember when considering that special Mother’s Day gift it is that our moms know us better than we know ourselves.  That means that those special ladies know when the gift has real meaning and when it is a last minute thought. 

When considering the best Mother’s Day gift ideas of the year, it is important to consider your age — not your mother’s age — and what you can comfortably afford to give her.  In other words, gifts should be age appropriate from the child giving the gift.  Gifts should not be so extravagant that Mom will be reluctant to accept it.
