Perhaps you always wanted a custom inground pool and now you have achieved enough success to be able to afford one. The first season the custom pool was operational was one of the most fun times you have ever had at your home. But, the summer will come to an end at some point and you will not be able to take a dip. What can you do to ensure your inground pool is properly maintained during the off season? Honestly, it is not all that difficult to take care of a swimming pool during such a time frame. Let’s examine some simple tips for making sure your pool is properly maintained when not in use.

Often, the way you take care inground pools during the off season will depend on how cold it gets during the fall and winter. If you live in an area where it gets very cold, you will need to completely drain the ingroung pool and cover it with a tarp. Not completely draining the pool can lead to a number of problems. If there is still water residue in the pool, it could end up freezing and expanding. This could lead to cracks in the swimming pools structure and foundation. Not covering it could lead to a lot of snow and hail and debris entering the pool which could cause problems.

When you live in an area where it does not get cold in the winter, you can keep the pool filled with water. But, it is important to regularly clean the inground pool even when not in use. A poorly maintained pool will look terrible and it also can prove to be hazardous to one’s health if impurities are allowed to fester for too long. That is why it is so important to always maintain proper cleaning procedures during the off season.
