If you are shopping for large wall clocks, then you should be prepared for how you are going to hang it in your home.  You should consider where it will be going and the type of anchoring that your wall can provide.  I would suggest you think about this before you actually purchase one.  It isn’t that you can’t return it, it is just more of a let down and it may cost you the shipping charges.

So, where do you hang them?  Oh, one more thing.  Most large wall clocks will only look balanced if in a room with tall ceilings like in a home with vaulted or cathedral ceilings.  If you are planning on putting this clock on your ceilings of only 10 feet or so, you might choose a smaller clock for visual reasons.  Okay, about hanging that clock.  It is really suggested that you hang this large wall clock into a stud.  This is the safest way to ensure that it will not fall or be easily dislodged with any shifts or movements.  While some wall clocks are actually replicas or moulds of heavier clocks and may be rated light enough to mount with drywall anchors, the safest bet is always  to find the closest stud and use that as your anchor.
