Teaching Your Children To Draw
Most children will at some stage in their development show an interest in drawing. This is definitely something that should be cultivated, and giving them a few little tips to get them started will ensure that they have the best chance of producing something that they can be proud of.
For starters, make sure that you provide them with some quality drawing paper and a good set of pencils. The bigger the variety of colours they have available, the better. They should have at least a set of 24 colours to start off with. They will also need some lead pencils for initial sketching, and teaching them how to make a rough outline lightly will ultimately save you paper. Which brings me to erasers. Spend a little more on a good eraser, because the cheap ones will smudge. Finally, give your kids a few resources, for example a book on how to draw cartoon family pictures, or animals. The best books will have step by step instructions.
